Frequently Asked Questions

What is a psychiatric evaluation?

A psychiatric/mental health evaluation is a comprehensive clinical assessment that reviews your mental health history, current symptoms, and life circumstances. It results in an accurate diagnosis and a personalized treatment plan.

How long does the evaluation take?

Initial evaluations are typically 60 to 90 minutes. This allows your provider adequate time to gather a thorough picture of your mental health before making any clinical recommendations.

What happens after the evaluation?

Following your evaluation, your provider will discuss their findings with you and work collaboratively to create a treatment plan. This may include medication management, care coordination, or referrals as appropriate.

Can evaluations be completed via telehealth?

Yes. We offer full psychiatric evaluations through our secure telepsychiatry platform for patients across Minnesota and North Dakota. Telehealth evaluations are clinically equivalent to in-person visits.

What areas do you serve for psychiatric evaluations?

We serve patients in Albertville, Big Lake, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Champlin, Maple Grove, Monticello, Rogers, and throughout Minnesota and North Dakota via telepsychiatry.
